Bird Control in Orlando

Responsible Bird Control Starts with a Property Assessment

Birds can become a property concern when they roost on structures, nest in sheltered areas, enter roof or attic spaces, or leave droppings near frequently used surfaces. We begin by identifying where the activity occurs and what conditions may allow it to continue.

We assess homes and businesses for access points, nesting and roosting locations, food and water sources, and sanitation concerns. Because bird management involves structural conditions, animal behavior, and wildlife regulations, it requires a different approach from general pest treatment.

How We Assess Bird Activity & Property Conditions

We use Integrated Pest Management, which combines prevention, monitoring, nonchemical measures, and targeted treatment based on conditions at the property. For bird concerns, this means evaluating the site and the animals’ behavior before recommending a response.

A bird control assessment may address:

  • Activity: Where birds enter, gather, roost, or nest around the structure.
  • Access: Openings and sheltered areas that may contribute to recurring activity.
  • Attractants: Food, water, uncovered trash, spilled seed, and other accessible resources.
  • Sanitation: Droppings, nesting material, odors, and affected surfaces that may create property concerns.
  • Property use: Whether the site is a home, rental property, warehouse, restaurant, or another commercial setting.

The appropriate response depends on the property layout, nesting status, access conditions, bird behavior, and applicable wildlife protections. Depending on our findings, recommendations may include correcting access points, reducing attractants, or considering site-appropriate exclusion and deterrence measures. We can explain the available options and associated costs before work begins.

Bird Nests & Wildlife Protections in Florida

Most native migratory birds, along with their active nests, eggs, and chicks, are protected under the federal Migratory Bird Treaty Act. An active nest generally can’t be destroyed without applicable authorization, so the species and nesting status may determine which actions are permitted and when work can occur.

Requirements may also differ for protected species, nonnative nuisance birds, inactive nests, and active nests. Property owners shouldn’t disturb a nest or attempt removal without first understanding the relevant federal and state wildlife regulations.

Simple preventive steps may reduce the conditions that attract birds. These include securing trash, cleaning up spilled seed, limiting accessible food and water, and monitoring sheltered areas for new activity.
